===== Ubuntu Linux =====

[[http://www.ubuntu.com/|Ubuntu Linux]] sounds like the best distribution for my needs.  It is easy to use, based on Debian, and the desktop version comes with [[http://www.gnome.org/|GNOME]].  An alternative version called [[http://www.kubuntu.org/|Kubuntu]] comes with [[http://www.kde.org/|KDE]] instead of GNOME.  Other variations include [[http://www.xubuntu.org/|Xubuntu]] and [[http://fluxbuntu.org/|Fluxbuntu]].
