Firefox 2.0 released
Mozilla Firefox 2.0, the latest version of my favourite web browser, has just been released. Release notes are here.
I just installed it and immediately noticed a few changes. There has been a slight visual touch up. Each tab now has its own close button. There is spell checking when typing stuff into web pages (mistakes get underlined with a red dotted line).
On the subject of web browsers, there’s an interesting comparison of Firefox 2 and Internet Explorer 7 at the PC World blog. The author raises a great question that has crossed my mind before:
If Firefox had never cut sharply into IE’s market share, would Microsoft ever have gotten around to bringing its browser into the modern age?
I doubt it. Happy browsing.
